Title- Using Electronic Voting Devices for Increasing Students’ Participation in the Classroom and Evaluating them
Abstract- Inside the context where university teaching is immersed, inside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), it is needed to propose new motivation ways to engage students in the classes. One approach consists in the increase of homework relevance, but as technology advances, another option is to apply it inside the classroom, given that students definitely prefer the application of active methodologies rather than passive ones, and moreover, they enjoy the use of interactive devices. This work presents an experience performed in several technical subjects of two Grades at the University of Granada (Spain). Students of these subjects used an electronic voting system in the classes. Obtained results along two academic courses are presented and analyzed, yielding figures to support the effectiveness of this proposal, both considering the students’ evaluation results and their opinion (in different polls) about the experience.
